Introduction

Before installing a gateway for Windows, review the system requirements and specifications.

Considerations

  • If Windows Gateway is configured to receive Syslog messages, verify that access to 514 port is allowed.
  • PostgreSQL Database: Gateway installation uses PostgreSQL Database. If you have the application already installed, then provide the database root credentials while registering Gateway.

OS Support Policy:

  • Only applicable to Windows Operating system.
  • 6 Months support if the operating system is approaching End of life.
  • 6 Months to support new operating system.

Features that works only in Windows Gateway:

  • WMI-based discovery and monitoring

Features not supported in Windows Gateway:

  • Web Services (Synthetics)
  • SIP
  • WebUI for Gateway registration
  • API-based registration
  • Proxy agent (Agents connecting via Windows Gateway)
  • MAC and IP address masking
