Introduction

Files and folders on a local system can be shared with a target remote resource. Sharing is accomplished using file transfer.

  • For Windows devices, file transfers are enabled when an agent is installed on the resource.
  • For Linux devices, file transfers are accomplished directly through an SSH console.

Transferring files in Windows devices

To do a file transfer in a Windows device:

  1. Select a client from the All Clients list.
  2. Go to Infrastructure > Consoles column, click the Consoles icon.
  3. For File Transfer, click the Java Console icon.

  4. Download and open the .jnlp file.
  5. From Console Login, provide Ticket ID/Alert ID.
    The number reflects as Request ID in the Consoles list.
  6. For Activity Log Note, provide comments for the RDP console activity, if any.
  7. Provide Username, Password, and click Ok.
    Note: The Username and Password fields appear disabled if provided at the time of adding console.
    • The FTRANSFER Console window appears.
    • After authenticating, OpsRamp Agent File Transfer window appears.

  8. From the LOCAL MACHINE panel, select the required drive and then select the required files and folders.
  9. Click Send.

The selected files/folders are transferred to the REMOTE MACHINE panel.

Transferring files in Linux devices

To do a file transfer in a Linux device:

  1. Select a client from the All Clients list.
  2. Go to Infrastructure > Consoles column, click the Consoles icon.
  3. For SSH, click the Java Console icon.

  4. Download and open the .jnlp file.

  8. Click the SCP File Transfer icon.

  9. From the Local System panel select the required drive and then select the required files/folders.
  10. Click the —> icon.

The selected files/folders are transferred to the Remote System panel.
